Over the 1996-2012 period, the BBSCs have experienced a serious increase in the value of both exports and
imports with EU-15; the BBSCs’ export to EU-15 increased from nearly 53 bn $ in 1996 to 308.5 bn $ in 2012, it
is nearly 6 times more than the beginning of the period. On the other hand, 5 fold increases has been seen in the
BBSCs’ import from EU-15 (Table 3). As it is seen from Table 5 and Fig. 3, during 1996-2004 the value of export
was lower than the value of imports which showed trade deficit between two regions but after 2004 there was a
